Rain Won’t Stop Us!

Door knocked in East Boston before the thunderstorm hit, then attended City Councillor Annissa Essaibi George’s campaign kickoff at friend Phil Frattaroli’s new Cunard Tavern.

The thunder and rain hit (did it ever !) but inside was friendship and conversation with many Jeffries Point neighbors as well as our local elected leaders as well as with Annissa.

Eastie Peace Walk

Was great to join yesterday day’s Peace Walk in East Boston, at which Police Commissioner Bill Evans spoke. Our East Boston State Representative Adrian Madaro also spoke of the need for community peace that we all need to work for.

OHNC Meeting

At last night’s big Orient Heights Civic Association gathering, I greeted those who I already knew as well as some who I hadn’t yet met. Here’s a few pictures:

Bunker Hill Day Parade

I have a confession to make. I am having a “milestone” birthday this year. And months ago someone asked me how I wanted to celebrate. I replied I REALLY wanted to walk in a parade. Imagine my excitement level when I realized that while running for Boston City Councilor, District 1 I am able to walk in the Charlestown, Bunker Hill Day Parade!

It was better than I had expected! Thank you to my great volunteers!

Pride Flag Raising

Tonight I joined East Boston’s LGBT community, keynote speaker Matthew Barison, OutVets’ Bryan Bishop, and elected officials to celebrate the annual Pride Flag raising.

Memorial Day

On this Memorial Day, we give thanks to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, protecting the freedoms we hold most dear. Freedom does not come without sacrifice. From the Revolutionary War to the conflicts of today, we remember those who did not return.

Thank you to the East Boston High School ROTC led by Ltc G Wellman, for leading services at today’s memorials in East Boston.

EBSC Retirement Event

Last night was wonderful, honoring John Kelly, And his retirement from the East Boston Social Centers.
